CAIRO, GA - News release from GeorgiaCares
The National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association estimates that 3% of all healthcare spending, roughly $68 billion is lost to fraud.
In an effort to educate Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers, GeorgiaCares and the Florida Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) will host two (2) events for the residents of Cairo, GA and Havana, FL. There will be information booths set up and various presentations to provide information about:
- Medicare assistance programs that can help you pay for Medicare costs.
- Medicare Preventive Service
- How to recognize scams and avoid identify theft
- Local resources to assist you with Medicare and health care fraud issues
The two events will also feature representatives from the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA), The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Join representatives from Georgia Cares, Georgia SHIP, Florida SMP and Florida SHINE and learn how to protect yourself and loved ones from becoming victims of Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse.
